What is the minimum and maximum size for a group?
Minimum group size is 2 players and maximum group size in each room is 6 players. Some of our games provide duplicate rooms and different playing formats, so you can book our venue with as many as 36 players at once; however you won’t all be playing in the same room or the same mystery.
What is the “Team Swap” format?
This format is designed for larger groups up to 24 players. You’ll be split into competing teams and have 30 minutes to find the clues that unlock the mysteries of your room. If you solve all the clues before your time is up, your team wins the round! Once the first 30 minutes is up, you’ll switch rooms and the competition starts again.
Recommended format for large and corporate groups. 1 hour total playing time with all teams playing at the exact same time and the exact same mystery!
Are there any age limits?
Mindshift Escape Rooms are designed for the whole family from ages 5+ with Adelaide’s only game room designed just for juniors.
What should I wear?
Whether you’re celebrating a special event or enjoying a casual weekend with friends, you’re welcome to wear whatever you feel comfortable in (with the exception of birthday suits!). There are no physical challenges in our rooms, so anything from UGG boots to stilettos will work.
Do you have wheelchair accessibility?
Absolutely. We provide a ramped entry at the rear of our building for wheelchair access. We also offer wheelchair facilities and an access-friendly escape room. For further assistance and information, please call to chat with one of our friendly team members.
Is it safe to play? Can I exit the room during the game? What if I’m claustrophobic?
Our rooms are very safe, with your safety being our first priority. We’ve installed specific safety systems and you can exit the room at any point – the door is never actually locked. It’s very common to be concerned about feelings of confinement prior to experiencing an escape room, but rest assured, our games are no different than walking into a bedroom, study or apartment. Unlike a visit to your chatty great aunt’s house, you’re free to leave any time you like!
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Our games don’t require any additional items to be brought in. However, you’re welcome to take in any specific medication you may need to keep you safe.
Am I required to engage in physical challenges?
Not at all. There are no physical challenges set up in our rooms. You’ll only be required to flex your mental muscles.
Is the game scary? Will anyone jump out and scare us?
The games do not have jump scares included. Gypsy Manor is designed to be intense and have supernatural themes so be aware if you decide to book this room.
What if we are stuck during a game and run out of ideas?
Your game is constantly being monitored by one of our game masters. They know what stage you are at, at all times. If they see you’ve drawn a blank, a hint will be sent to you using our hint system. You’ll receive an alert to let you know something has magically travelled to where you are to help you along.
Are bookings essential? Do you accept walk-ins? How about same day bookings?
Booking are advised, but not essential as our escape rooms are subject to availability. Walk-ins are welcomed and we can let you know if any games currently open, or when the next free booking will be. Our bookings allow a 2 hour window of opportunity, so if it’s 11am and you want to, you can book anything from 1pm onwards that day, if available.
What happens if someone in our group is late?
If someone in your group is running late, we’ll start your session as scheduled with your other guests and place your remaining guest into the game upon their arrival. There’s an introduction session prior to the game commencing, so it is unlikely they’ll miss too much of the adventure.
I've paid for my whole group but one person didn't show up on the day. Do I get my money back?
Sorry your friend couldn’t turn up. Unfortunately we don’t offer refunds, so its best to grab another friend to fill their spot.
I have extra people that want to play - can they come too if I’ve already booked for less people?
You can add people to your booking so long as they fit within the group size your room can accommodate. If the new group will exceed the capacity of your booked mystery room, please call us in advance so we can look for availability on your behalf. The extra players can pay on arrival.
I have to cancel, can I get a refund?
While we don’t do refunds, we do offer a rebooking service if you notify us with at least 48 hours’ notice. You can also reschedule online using your booking email.
Can I change my booking?
Yes, you can change your booking if it is at least 48 hours outside your session time.
Can I take photos or video in the game room?
To preserve the secrets and mysteries of our rooms for future guests, we don’t allow any photos or video footage to be taken inside the game rooms. But you’re welcome to take as many photos or videos inside our lobby as you like, and use or social photo booth to hashtag your visit and post your photos to Instagram.
Is your venue licensed?
Indeed we are. So you’re quite welcome to have a tipple with your friends and discuss your experience after the game.
Do you provide discounts for large bookings?
Our tiered pricing structure accommodates discounts based on the number of players. The more that play, the less per person to pay!
Where can I park?
There is plenty of street parking available close to the venue. Weekends after 12pm is free of charge while there is a mix of free and ticketed parking available weekdays.
Do you provide gift vouchers?
You bet we do. Our gift vouchers are available online for online bookings. We’re very modern like that.
